I am a graduate of Spelman College and the University of Texas School of Law. Prior to becoming the Judge of Harris County Criminal Court at Law No. 12, I served as an assistant public defender at the state and federal level for over a decade. In addition to being the judge of County Criminal Court 12, I preside over a SOBER Court docket, which is a specialty docket that helps participants overcome serious issues of alcohol and drug dependency. I have dedicated my legal career to protecting the constitutional rights of those that encounter the criminal justice system.

I am personally passionate about working with community partners to take a more wholistic approach to reducing recidivism.
