I’m Geoffrey Tahuahua, a Dripping Springs City Council member, small business owner, and father of three, running for Hays County Judge because I believe local government should work for the people it serves.

I lead a statewide trade association and have spent more than a decade working at the Texas Capitol on public policy and regulatory issues. In that role, I’ve worked with lawmakers, agency officials, and stakeholders across the political spectrum to advance practical solutions and improve government effectiveness.

At the local level, I’ve served on Dripping Springs City Council for five years, where I’ve worked on budgets, infrastructure, emergency management, and long range planning in one of the fastest growing regions in Texas. I’ve also served in leadership roles supporting emergency services and helped guide a public safety organization through a financial crisis.

My wife Katie grew up in Wimberley, and we are raising our family here in Hays County. I’m running for County Judge to bring steady leadership, fiscal responsibility, and trust back to county government, with a focus on roads, first responders, responsible growth, and ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent wisely.
  • I am a Dripping Springs City Council member and small business owner with more than a decade of experience working on public policy at the Texas Capitol. I currently lead a statewide trade association and have worked with legislators, agency officials, and stakeholders from across the political spectrum to advance practical, consensus-driven solutions. My background is focused on turning policy into results, improving transparency, and making government work more effectively for the people it serves.
  • At the local level, I have served on Dripping Springs City Council for five years, working on budgets, infrastructure, emergency management, and long-range planning in one of the fastest-growing areas in Texas. I have also held leadership roles supporting emergency services and helped guide a public safety organization through a financial crisis, giving me hands-on experience managing taxpayer dollars responsibly and supporting first responders.
  • My wife grew up in Wimberley, and we are raising our family in Hays County. I am deeply invested in this community and understand the challenges that come with rapid growth. I am running for County Judge to provide steady leadership focused on roads, public safety, responsible development, and fiscal discipline, ensuring county government remains transparent, efficient, and responsive to the people who rely on it every day.
I am most passionate about public policies that strengthen local government and focus on its core responsibilities. This includes infrastructure and transportation, support for first responders and emergency services, responsible budgeting, and managing growth in a way that protects taxpayers. I believe government should be transparent, efficient, and accountable, with a focus on delivering essential services rather than expanding bureaucracy. I am also passionate about public safety preparedness and ensuring local governments coordinate effectively with regional partners to serve growing communities. For me, good public policy is practical, solutions-oriented, and centered on the people it serves.
I am honored to be endorsed by state and local leaders who value steady, experienced leadership. My supporters include State Senator Donna Campbell, State Representative Carrie Isaac, Former State Representative Jason Isaac, Constable Don Montague (Pct. 3), Constable Dave Graham (Pct. 4), Former Hays County Judge Jim Powers, Former Hays County Commissioner Ray Whisenant (Pct. 4), Mayor Bill Foulds, Jr. (City of Dripping Springs), and Tricia Quintero (Dripping Springs ISD). I am also grateful for the support of organizations like the Real Estate Council of Austin and the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin.
