George Buth
George S. Buth was a judge for the 17th Circuit Court (Civil/Criminal Division) in Kent County, Michigan. He has served in this position from 1987 to 2017.[1][2][3]
Education
Buth received his B.A. degree from Michigan State University in 1968 and his J.D. degree from Wayne State University Law School in 1971.[4]
Career
Buth began his career in 1973 as a sole practitioner and he worked in that capacity until 1986, specializing in appeal cases. He then joined the circuit court in 1987. There he served as Chief Judge Pro Tem (1992 through 1999) and Chief Judge (2000 through 2003).[1][4]
2010 election

Buth was re-elected (along with James Robert Redford and Paul Denenfeld) in the general election on November 2, 2010. He received 34.85 percent of the vote.[2]
