Cleland (Democratic Party) ran for re-election for judge of the North Carolina 21st Judicial District. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Cleland was appointed to the court on September 4, 2020, by Gov. Roy Cooper (D) to replace George A. Bedsworth.[1]
Education
Cleland received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Wake Forest University, and a J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.[1]

Cleland has practiced law in Forsyth County since 1990.[1]
