Boag ran in the 2012 election for Massachusetts House of Representatives Thirty-Sixth Middlesex District. She was defeated by Cathy Richardson in the Republican primary on September 6. Incumbent Colleen Garry ran unopposed in the Democratic primary.[1][2]

2012
Boag supported cutting the state sales tax from 5%, to an eventual level of 3%. He opposed the MBTA bailout and did not support an increase in the gas tax or in tolls to close the budget gap. He favord voter I.D. laws. Boag opposed state benefits for illegal immigrants.[3]
