George Gardner Fagg (b. 1934) was a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit. He joined the court in 1982 after being nominated by President Ronald Reagan. He served on senior status until he passed away.[1] Fagg passed away on July 14, 2015.[2]

Education

George Fagg was born in Eldora, Iowa in 1934 and earned his bachelor's degree there at Drake University, in 1956. In 1958, he earned his Juris Doctor degree from the same university.[1]

Professional career

After earning his J.D. degree in 1958, Fagg went into private practice in Marshalltown, Iowa until 1972. In 1972, he became a trial judge for the 2nd Judicial District of the Iowa District Court until 1982.[1]

Judicial nominations and appointments

Fagg was nominated by Ronald Reagan on September 22, 1982, to a seat vacated by Roy Stephenson. Fagg was later confirmed to the Eighth Circuit by the Senate on October 1, 1982, and received commission on the same day. George Fagg assumed senior status on May 1, 1999. He passed away on July 14, 2015.[1]
