George Hooks (b. May 9, 1945) is a former Democratic member of the Georgia State Senate, representing District 14 from 1991 to 2013. He did not seek re-election in 2012. He previously served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1980 to 1990.

Biography

Hooks earned his B.A. from Auburn University in 1970 and his L.L.D. from Mercer University in 2000. His professional experience includes working as Deacon/Sunday School Teacher for the First Baptist Church of America, Regional Vice President for the Alliance of American Insurers and President of The Hooks Agency, Incorporated.

On November 4, 2008, Hooks won re-election to the Georgia Senate from Georgia's 14th Senate district. Hooks ran unopposed in the general election, and he received 46,500 votes.[2] Hooks raised $28,275 for his campaign.[3]
