It has been my honor to represent and support residents in my district and throughout Kent County for the last 16 years. I have fought for the rights of farmers and the rights of individuals to have the best quality of life. I have supported firefighters with increased and balanced funding for the last 14 years. I have fought to keep Kent County taxes one of the lowest in the nation. I have lived in Kent County for 63 of my 64 years, with 60 of those 63 years right here in my District. I grew up in Rodney Village and off S. Old Mill Rd, graduating from Caesar Rodney High School. No other candidate has that history.
  • In 63 years in the County and 16 years on Levy Court, you build many relationships that are invaluable as an elected official. Those relationships assist in providing the best support for constituents.
  • In 16 years I have attended many Homeowner Association, Civic Association, and Community meetings, responding to homeowner situations with the County, with the State, with their management companies, and with each other.
  • I have always returned every phone call and every email from any person seeking assistance in Kent County. That practice will not stop.
I have always and will continue to support Public Safety to provide the best Paramedic Service to all Kent Countians. I have always and will continue to support Parks and Recreation to expand services for all Kent Countians. I will fight to avoid tax increases and to increase the fees developers pay for the impact their developments have on schools and traffic.
Past President Brooks Banta, who kept a running tally of the number of people who called him for help.
Honesty and integrity, listening to constituents, and always choosing to do the right thing for constituents.
63 years of history in the County and District, and an ability to listen. Larry King once said, "So if I'm going to learn, I must do it by listening. I never learned anything while I was talking."
Support for your community. Making sure that Kent County government continues to be customer-focused, with responsibility and authority remaining with the elected body.
I would like to leave Kent County a better place for residents than when I started, and if this is my last year on Levy Court, I have been successful.
The assassinations of Robert F Kennedy and Martin Luther King. I was six or seven at the time.
Deli Clerk at B&B Dairy Market. I worked there for nearly a year as a 16 year old.
The Stand by Stephen King. It was interesting to see his depiction of an apocalyptic world with true Good and Evil battling for control of the survivors.
One of the Marines who hefted the American Flag at Iwo Jima.
Tie a Yellow Ribbon by Tony Orlando and Dawn
I can honestly say that there is not much. I had a very normal childhood, playing with friends in the neighborhood, playing baseball at Camden Wyoming Little League, going to school in the Caesar Rodney public schools. I married young and had two children whom I have a wonderful relationship, then divorced and married again with two more children, and this family is exceptionally well-rounded with great relationships. I have dealt with the lost of family in my father and father-in-law who battled serious medical issues. I have had my own medical issues with open heart surgery, but with my wife by my side, it was a non-impactful.
I have been a champion for online transparency of all financial transactions in both State and County Government. I fought for the Transportation Checkbook for State Legislators Community Transporation Funds to be shared online for all to see where they spend their money. I have been a champion for new software at the County that allows anyone with a computer to access financial information.
