George Johnson (Illinois)
George E. Q. Johnson (1874-1949) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Johnson died on September 19, 1949.
He received a recess appointment from President Herbert Hoover on August 3, 1932 to fill a new seat created by 46 Stat. 1417. On December 7th of that year, he was nominated. However, he was not confirmed by the Senate, so his service ended on March 3, 1933.[1] Johnson was succeeded in this position by Philip Leo Sullivan.
