George McGunnigle
George McGunnigle was a Minnesota Fourth Judicial District judge for Hennepin County, Minnesota. He was appointed to this position by Gov. Ventura in 2000 and was elected in 2002 and 2008.
Judge McGunnigle began his legal career in 1967 as a U.S. Navy Judge Advocate. He worked in this position as a prosecutor, defense counsel and military judges until 1971, when he became an Assistant U.S. Attorney for Connecticut. The following year, he joined the law firm of Leonard, Street and Deinard, where he worked as a partner and shareholder, member of the Board of Directors, and Chair of the Litigation Division and Business Litigation Department. He was then appointed to the district court in 2000.
Judge McGunnigle received his A.B. degree from Boston College in 1963, his LL.B. degree from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1966 and his LL.M. degree from The National Law Center of George Washington University in 1967.[1]
