George C. Metoyer, Jr. is a judge of the 9th Judicial District, Division F in Rapides Parish, Louisiana. He was elected to this position in 1992.[1][2] He was re-elected in 2014 for a term beginning on January 1, 2015, and expiring on December 31, 2020.[3][4]

As an unopposed candidate, he was automatically re-elected without appearing on the ballot. [4]

Education

Metoyer received his B.S. from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1976 and his J.D. from Southern University Law School in 1980.[1]

Career

Metoyer began his career in 1981 as a law clerk for the Louisiana Attorney General's Office, Criminal Division. He worked in that position through 1983. In 1984, he became an assistant district attorney of the 9th Judicial District Court and a private practice attorney. He worked at those two jobs until his judicial election in 1992.[1]
