George Moraitis
George Moraitis (Republican Party) is running for election to the U.S. House to represent Florida's 23rd Congressional District. He declared candidacy for the Republican primary scheduled on August 18, 2026.[source]
Moraitis (Republican Party) was a member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 93. He assumed office in 2010. He left office on November 6, 2018.
Moraitis was unable to run for re-election in 2018 to the Florida House of Representatives because of term limits.
Biography
Moraitis earned his bachelor's degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and his J.D. at the University of Florida Law School. His professional experience includes working as a partner at the law firm of Moraitis Cofar Karney & Moraitis in Fort Lauderdale. Moraitis served seven years as a submarine officer in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Naval Reserve.

Elections for the Florida House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on August 26, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 20, 2014. Scott Herman was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while incumbent George Moraitis was unopposed in the Republican primary. Herman was defeated by Moraitis in the general election.[5][6]

Moraitis won election in the 2012 election for Florida House of Representatives District 93. Moraitis ran unopposed in the Republican primary on August 14, 2012, and defeated Gerri Ann Capotosto (D) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[7]
