George N. Jonson was previously an at-large member of the Hamilton Board of Education. He lost re-election against five other candidates for three available seats in the November 5, 2013 general election. Jonson first won election to the board in 1982.

Jonson received his undergraduate degree from Ohio State University and J.D. from the University of Cincinnati. He has run his own law practice in Hamilton since 1962. Jonson and his wife, Sophia, have three children and four grandchildren.[1]

In an interview with the Journal-Times, Jonson noted that his priorities as a board member including improving academic performance, maintaining a steady budget and attracting talented teachers with competitive compensation.[3]
