George Pataki announces bid for presidency

Former Governor of New York George Pataki (R) announced his bid for the presidency this morning. Pataki released a video on his campaign website declaring his candidacy, before speaking in front of a crowd of supporters in New Hampshire. In his announcement video, Pataki said, "It is time to stand up, protect our freedom and take back this government."[1][2]
Pataki served three terms as the 53rd governor of New York from 1995 to 2007. Previously, Pataki was the mayor of Peekskill, New York, and served in both the New York State Assembly and New York State Senate.[3]
