Biography

George Wonica was born in Staten Island, New York. He received a bachelor's degree from St. John's University in 1996. Wonica's professional experience includes being a licensed real estate broker, licensed residential appraiser, and licensed mortgage broker. He has been affiliated with Kiwanis Club of Staten Island, the Brooklyn Board of REALTORS, the New York State Association of REALTORS, and the National Association of REALTORS.[1]

I am a small businessman that has been involved with my local community for the past 28 years. I have been involved with my local community board and other civic organizations. Proud father to 3 children and husband to Laura.
  • We need common sense leadership today and not typical politicians.
  • Pledge to fight the inequities of NYC's Property Tax System
  • Need to help out businesses recover from the pandemic.
Property Taxes and Government inclusion. Staten island constantly has to fight for everything we get. We need to get people willing to fight for Staten Island and I will be a fighter for my District and Staten Island.
Come up with policies that directly have an effect on how the city is run. We have seen this with the most recent run of legislation that has made us less safe, and had people flee NYC.
Look up to all entrepreneurs that look for ways to improve and make life better and make our economy grow.

Absolutely not. That is exactly the issue with the Council. There is no outside experience on running a business and unintended consequences of legislation.
The ability to negotiate. The ability to understand the everyday needs of constituents.
