My name is Gerald Boursiquot, I am running for Assembly District 75. I am a 22 year retired military veteran. I was born and raised in Spring Valley, NY in the County of Rockland. I settled in San Diego after retiring from the US Air Force. I am the child of Haitian Immigrants who escaped from the dictatorship of Francois Duvalier in Haiti in 1961. They arrived to a JFK Administration and they both became active Union members and lifelong Democrats. My Father was a member of the UAW 906 in Mahwah, NJ and My Mother was a member of the East Ramapo Central District as a cook. I am the first person in my family to ever obtain a Bachelors degree, which was in Information Systems from ITT Technical Institute along with an Associates Degree from Alliance College In Nyack, NY which is a Christian Seminary that I attended at the request of my parents. I am also the first person in my family to ever serve in the US Military. I am a resident of North County San Diego since 2014. I am also member of the Fallbrook Democrats, and I am on the Go Team.
  • EXPAND HOUSING ACCESS, and tackle the homeless crisis. This is very personal to me because I was homeless for nine months while in Uniform. While homeless I was very grateful to receive assistance from many services from organization like St. Vincent De Paul, and Father Joes Village and the Alpha Project in San Diego. However one thing I did not receive was an offer for housing. One of my goals that housing will be available to all who need it without cost.

Secure funds for more affordable housing projects, especially for vets, farmworkers, and seniors. Provide affordable home insurance and wildfire mitigation to protect us from future fires.

Encourage affordable housing development without sacrificing our region’s charm and character.
  • Lower the cost of living: Protect workers' rights to unionize and negotiate fair wages, safe workplaces, and good benefits. Every Californian deserves economic security without exploitation. Implement strict transparency in hospital billing practices and pharmaceutical pricing, alongside mandatory audits of school district budgets to eliminate waste and prioritize student needs. Deliver tax relief for military veterans, low-and middle-income families, essential fire services, and expanded rural transit options like subsidized shuttles and road maintenance. Redirect state funding from corporate subsidies to direct supports—affordable housing credits, job training programs, and childcare subsidies—that help working families to thrive
  • Economic Growth in North and East County Bring more job centers to North and East County to prioritize hiring local workers from our communities. This strategic development will reduce commuting from distant areas, easing unsustainable traffic congestion on the I-5 and I-15 corridors—vital arteries strained by daily overloads that harm air quality and productivity. Fully fund schools and colleges in District 75 to build a skilled workforce ready for these opportunities. Grow our regional economy by encouraging small and large businesses to invest in District 75 through targeted incentives like streamlined permitting and tax credits for local hiring. Invest robustly in career training programs tailored to high-demand sectors, expanded men
Economic Justice Platform for District 75

As a 22-year military veteran and community organizer in Fallbrook, I’m passionate about tackling the cost of living crisis head-on. Protect workers’ rights to unionize for fair wages and safe jobs—prioritizing locals in North & East County job centers. This cuts I-5/I-15 traffic congestion, boosts air quality, and ends long commutes.

Lower healthcare bills with billing transparency; audit school budgets for efficiency. Expand tax relief for vets, families, fire services, and rural transit. Fully fund schools, colleges, career training, and veteran mental health. Support small businesses with incentives to invest here—redirecting funds from corporate handouts to housing credits, childcare, and job
