This measure sought to add a half cent sales tax in order to help pay for the construction and maintenance of the community center and park services in the city.[2]
The question on the ballot:
SHALL THE CITY OF GERALD BE ALLOWED TO IMPOSE A ONE-HALF CENT PER DOLLAR SALES TAX FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OF A COMMUNITY CENTER WITHIN THE GERALD CITY PARKS SYSTEM.[3] |
