Gerald J. Buchwald is a judge for the Superior Court of San Mateo County in California. He was appointed by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in April 2005 to succeed Judith Whitmer. Buchwald was re-elected in 2012 and his current term will expire in 2019.[1][2]

Buchwald received a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University and a J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law.[2]

2012 election
Buchwald ran for re-election to the superior court in 2012. As an unopposed incumbent, his name did not appear on the ballot. After the primary election, Buchwald was automatically re-elected.[3]
