Geraldine Sam
Geraldine Sam (Republican Party) ran for election to the U.S. Senate to represent Texas. She lost in the Republican primary on March 6, 2018.
Biography
Geraldine Sam’s career experience included working as an elementary school teacher prior to her retirement. Sam's political career includes campaigns for U.S. Congress in 1994 and 1996, the La Marque City Council in 1985, 1990, and 2004, and mayor of La Marque in 1992 and 2009. She won the 2009 election and became the city's first African-American mayor.[1] Sam was recalled from office in 2011.
