Recall supporters

Recall organizers listed the following as grounds for recalling Hudspeth:[2]

  • Unlawfully using city resources when electioneering in favor of an election measure while presiding at an official city council meeting.
  • Ignoring the will of a supermajority of Denton voters by giving direction to ignore a properly enacted Marijuana Decriminalization Proposition.
  • Nominating an open book-banner and leader of the extreme Mom's for Liberty group to the Denton Library Board.
  • Creating a hostile governing environment through the use of unfounded weaponized complaints.
  • Refusing to respond to lawful inquiries from members of the public concerned about the facts surrounding the death of Gunner, a dog, at the Denton Animal Shelter.[3]
