I want my legacy to reflect the deep and abiding love I have for my children, friends, and family. I hope to be remembered as someone who consistently demonstrated kindness and compassion, using my voice to amplify the voices of those who couldn't speak up for themselves. I also hope to be remembered for my unwavering dedication and resilience in pursuing my goals and making a positive impact in the world.
The first historical event that happened in my lifetime that I remember, vaguely, is the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. However, the event that stands out the most to me is September 11, 2001. I was 15 years old, a sophomore in high school. I remember being in a computer class when my teacher turned on the TV and we saw the second tower being hit. It was a shocking and unforgettable moment. Interestingly, I even remember what I was wearing at the time - a pink "Mr. Bubbles" t-shirt and blue jeans.
My first job was working as a waitress at Waffle House in Kingsland, Georgia. I began working shortly after turning 16 years old and stayed there for just under 3 years.
"My Sister's Keeper" is a captivating and thought-provoking novel that explores the complexities of family, love, sacrifice, and ethical dilemmas. It raises important questions about parental control, individual autonomy, and the true meaning of love and selflessness. Jodi Picoult's multi-perspective storytelling and compelling characters make it a must-read for anyone seeking a gripping and emotionally engaging story.
If I could be any fictional character, I’d have to go with Alvin from Alvin and the Chipmunks. I've admired him ever since I was a child.

Alvin is known for his confident and charming personality. He possesses natural leadership qualities and always manages to stand out in a crowd. His charisma and self-assuredness make him an engaging and entertaining character to watch.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of Alvin's character is his mischievous nature. He constantly comes up with wild ideas and schemes, which often lead to hilarious and unpredictable situations. His pranks and adventures keep viewers entertained and laughing.

Throughout the various adaptations of Alvin and the Chipmunks, Alvin's character has shown growth and development. He learns valuable lessons about responsibility, friendship, and the consequences of his actions. This character development adds depth and relatability to his persona.
My sarcastic sense of humor has always been a double-edged sword. While it has brought laughter and amusement to many, it has also posed challenges in certain situations.
In my view, the primary job of a school board member is to serve as the liaison between the school district and the community. They play a crucial role in bridging the gap between these two entities. The main responsibility of school board members is to engage with various stakeholders, including parents, students, teachers, and community members.

One of the primary tasks of a school board member is to actively listen to the concerns and opinions of these individuals. This involves attending meetings, forums, and other events where they can interact with the community and gather feedback. By actively engaging with stakeholders, school board members can gain a better understanding of the needs and aspirations of the community they serve.

Another important role of school board members is to represent the interests of the community in board decisions. They have the responsibility to voice the concerns and advocate for the priorities of parents, students, and teachers when making important decisions that impact the school district. This includes decisions related to curriculum, budget allocation, policies, and hiring of staff.

Furthermore, school board members are tasked with overseeing the performance of the school district. They are responsible for monitoring the progress of students, evaluating the effectiveness of educational programs, and ensuring that the district is meeting its goals and objectives. This involves regular communication with school administrators, reviewing reports, and making informed decisions to improve the quality of education provided.

Overall, the primary job of a school board member is to establish and maintain a strong connection between the school district and the community. By actively engaging with stakeholders, listening to their concerns, and representing their interests, school board members contribute to the development of an effective and inclusive educational system.
As a LCISD School Board Trustee, I will prioritize the needs and concerns of my constituents, which include parents, students, teachers, and members of the Lubbock-Cooper community.

For parents, I will actively listen to their concerns, gather feedback, and advocate for their needs and priorities within the school district.

I will ensure that students' voices are heard and their interests are considered in board decisions. It is crucial to create an inclusive and supportive educational environment where all students can thrive.

Teachers play a vital role in our education system, and I will work towards creating favorable conditions for their professional growth. Collaboration with educators, addressing their concerns, and advocating for policies that support effective teaching and learning will be a priority.

Engaging with members of the Lubbock-Cooper community who may not have children in the district is equally important. I will listen to their perspectives, address their concerns, and ensure that the school district contributes positively to the overall community.
I am committed to supporting the diverse needs of my district's students, faculty, staff, and community. Here's how I would approach it:

Inclusive Policies and Programs: I will advocate for implementing policies and programs that address the unique needs of different student populations. This includes ensuring equitable access to resources, support services, and educational opportunities for all students.

Building relationships with members of the broader community is vital for effective representation and collaboration. I will prioritize engaging with parents, businesses, nonprofit organizations, community leaders, cultural and faith-based organizations, civic groups, and educational institutions. By fostering relationships with these groups, we can address community needs and work together towards a better future.
Good teaching involves knowledge and expertise, clear communication, effective classroom management, differentiation, engagement, and assessment. Measuring it can be done through student achievement, feedback, and classroom observations. Supporting advanced teaching includes professional development, collaboration, resources, and recognition.
If given the opportunity to expand the curriculum, there are several areas that could be considered for advancement. One area that could be beneficial is advanced technical training. With the increasing demand for skilled workers in various industries, providing students with specialized training in areas such as technology, engineering, or healthcare can help them acquire the skills needed for high-demand jobs.

Another area that could be explored is apprenticeships. Apprenticeship programs offer a combination of classroom instruction and on-the-job training, allowing students to gain valuable hands-on experience in a specific trade or profession. Implementing apprenticeship programs can provide students with practical skills and a direct pathway to employment.

In terms of innovative programming, there are various possibilities. For example, incorporating coding and computer science into the curriculum can equip students with essential digital skills for the future. Additionally, promoting entrepreneurship and business skills through programs that encourage students to develop their own business ideas can foster creativity and critical thinking.

Furthermore, integrating interdisciplinary approaches into the curriculum can help students make connections across different subject areas and develop a holistic understanding of complex issues. This can be achieved through project-based learning, where students collaborate on real-world problems and apply knowledge from multiple disciplines.

Overall, expanding the curriculum to include advanced technical training, apprenticeships, innovative programming, and interdisciplinary approaches can provide students with a well-rounded education that prepares them for the future job market and fosters their creativity and problem-solving abilities.

My safety policies take a holistic and comprehensive approach. I consider various aspects of safety, including physical security measures, emergency response protocols, mental health support, and prevention strategies. By addressing these interconnected elements, I aim to create a safe and nurturing environment for all individuals in the school community.

During the pandemic, all school districts and schools faced unprecedented challenges in navigating the impact of COVID-19. Moving forward, it would be beneficial for schools to prioritize mental health support as students and staff return to the physical school environment. Recognizing the impact of the pandemic on mental health is crucial.

Schools should prioritize mental health support services for students, faculty, and staff. This can include providing access to counseling, resources for stress management, and promoting a culture of well-being. Addressing increased social anxieties, providing resources for coping with isolation, and creating a supportive and inclusive environment can help individuals navigate the challenges brought about by the pandemic.
Developing strong relationships with parents is crucial for effective representation and collaboration. I will prioritize engaging with parents to create an open line of communication and establish a sense of trust and partnership. This can be achieved through regular communication channels such as newsletters, email updates, and social media platforms.

I will organize parent involvement opportunities such as parent-teacher workshops, and informational sessions to provide parents with the necessary tools and resources to support their children's education. These interactions will not only enhance parental engagement but also provide valuable insights into the needs and aspirations of families within the community.

I will actively seek feedback from parents and involve them in decision-making processes. By soliciting their input on various matters, such as curriculum development, school policies, and extracurricular activities, we can ensure that their voices are heard and their perspectives are considered.

Ultimately, by building strong relationships with parents, we can create a collaborative and inclusive educational environment that benefits the entire community.
