After witnessing the failed policies of career politicians, the overreach of government regulations, the increased tax burden on small businesses, and the attacks on the family by the left, Gerrick Wilkins decided to take up the banner and run for Congress to represent Alabama as a servant leader. Gerrick is committed to serving a maximum of three terms in office to help restore our founding father’s vision of a citizen legislature.

FAITH

Gerrick Wilkins took to heart the quote from President Ronald Reagan, “We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.” This quote encouraged Gerrick to get involved in his local church, serving as a deacon and lay leader, engage in mission work locally and globally, and work with Gideons International. Gerrick is a principled man of faith and is a Christian who loves the Lord. His faith and family have encouraged him to pursue a calling to this period of civil service. Over the years, he has committed significant time and personal resources to missions and philanthropic work locally to help his community in Alabama and worldwide.

Gerrick also serves on several local advisory boards, including one for Mission Increase and Samford University’s Brock School of Business.

Although I had an entrepreneurial spirit at a young age with various small ventures, my first real job came during high school when I joined the electronic department at Sears. This commission-based position taught me early on the rewards that come from work and financial responsibility.

I remained committed to my job at Sears throughout my high school and college years. Working diligently, I could pay for my college education without resorting to student loans. This experience instilled in me a sense of financial independence and deepened my appreciation for the value of hard work and self-reliance.

From my early entrepreneurial ventures to my time at Sears, I have gained invaluable life lessons that have shaped my character and work ethic. The resourcefulness, determination, and customer service principles I cultivated during those formative years continue to guide me as a conservative Republican candidate for Congress.
My favorite book, without a doubt, is the Bible. It is my constant source of guidance, inspiration, and wisdom. In addition to the Bible, I enjoy reading biographies, particularly those on historical figures who embody the values I hold dear. One such book that left a lasting impression on me is "Never Give In" by Stephen Mansfield, a biography of Sir Winston Churchill.

Churchill's warrior spirit and unwavering leadership character have deeply resonated with me. He stood firm against tyranny, defended freedom, and inspired hope during some of the darkest times in history. His resilience and determination serve as a reminder that challenges can be overcome through courage and determination.

I draw strength and inspiration from Churchill's life to confront the challenges we face today. I am committed to emulating his dedication to preserving the principles of liberty and democracy while striving to advocate for the values that make our nation strong and prosperous.
As a huge Star Wars fan, I would have to say I would want to be the fictional character "Yoda" as his attributes and principles strongly resonate with my approach to leadership and public service.

While this was initially seen as a regular part of my athletic pursuits, over the years, it led to challenges with obesity that I have grappled with for much of my life.

Despite these struggles, I feel blessed to have maintained good overall health and am determined to take proactive steps to address my weight concerns. I recognize the importance of maintaining a balanced and healthy lifestyle and am committed to setting a positive example for others.

represent the populace, with members serving smaller constituencies compared
to the Senate. Its two-year term is supposed to ensure representatives remain
closely attuned to their constituents’ needs and opinions. Moreover, the House
has the sole power to initiate revenue-raising bills and has a pivotal role in
impeachment proceedings, reflecting its particular responsibilities in safeguarding
democratic principles and ensuring government accountability. Additionally, its
larger size and diverse representation provide a wide array of perspectives,

contributing to a rich, albeit complex, legislative process.
No, having previous experience in government or politics is not necessarily a

prerequisite for effective representation. Representatives with business
experience bring valuable insights, offering a unique perspective on economic
development, job creation, and fiscal management, which can be particularly

economic environment. Their experiences in the private sector can provide
practicality and a fresh approach, diverging from conventional political

paradigms.
The United States faces substantial challenges, notably a perceived decay in moral fiber and the rise of woke

ideology, which has intensified social and political divides while threatening the next generation. Additionally, the
ballooning federal debt of $33 trillion poses significant economic risks, potentially limiting the nation’s capacity to
tackle future crises and invest in necessary societal improvements. If Congress doesn’t stop the spending and
balance the budget, our nation could go bankrupt like Greece. However, we can address these with a change in
leadership and a renewal of the principals the helped make our country great. Having built a successful career in the

automotive industry, I know how to tackle problems and balance budgets.
Yes, this provides the most direct representation to the people and holds them
accountable.
I am firmly committed to Term Limits and vow to serve a maximum of three terms

in the House of Representatives. This commitment stems from an unwavering
belief that politics should be a calling, not a career. I have proudly signed the
term limits pledge and I will staunchly advocate for a Constitutional Amendment
to institute congressional term limits. This is not just a campaign promise but a
deeply held personal conviction, a topic I explore in greater depth in my
forthcoming book, “Unshackling Democracy, Embracing Term Limits and
Empowering Citizens.”
When the incumbent Congressman first ran, he promised to serve only 5 terms. However, this
year he went back on that promise and is running for a 6 th term which goes against our founding
fathers vision of a citizens legislature where people served only a short term and then went back
to their lives. Unfortunately, serving in Congress has become a career with no accountability.
Incumbents are re-elected because 90 percent of PAC money goes to them. Challengers don’t
have the resources to compete, so we get a Congress of professional politicians who ignore us.

Term limits is the solution that will breathe new life into Congress.
There is one story that is often repeated. It comes from mothers, fathers, and seniors

most often. With rising inflation, they are worried about making ends meet. How are
they going to afford medicine and food? How do they save for their children’s education
while putting gas in their tanks? It is a dilemma too many Alabamains are facing. The

cost of living, inflation, and taxes must be a top priority for the next Congress.
I have a book of Dad jokes with great puns that often get me eye rolls from my daughter, but one of my favorite jokes is: “Why was the football stadium so hot? Because all the fans left?”
Compromise is often necessary and desirable in policymaking to foster collaborative efforts, address varied interests,

and implement effective and inclusive solutions. However, it's also crucial to identify and uphold certain non-
negotiable principles to maintain a consistent and ethical policy framework. Balancing strategic compromise with

steadfast adherence to core values is essential in crafting policies that are both effective and principled.
I am not interested in power plays. I am interested in doing the people’s work

and following our Constitution.
Our nation doesn’t have a revenue problem. We have a spending problem. It is
time for Congress to put federal government spending on a diet and balance the
budget.
As the next Congressman, I have signed the No New Taxes pledge, because I
know from my years of experience in the business community that raising taxes

hurts the middle class and it will cripple the already fragile economy.
Congress has a duty to the people of this country to make sure that government

is working correctly and there is accountability. For example, the American
people deserved answer on why 13 of our citizens perished in the Afghanistan
withdrawal. They deserve answers when stimulus money has been abused.
Unfortunately, the power of investigation has been from time to time has been
used in a partisan fashion. Investigations should not be used for political
gamesmanship. Getting the politics out of investigations can be resolved by
implementing Congressional term limits, so members of Congress are more

focused on the people’s work and not re-election games.
