Gilbert A. Romero is a judge for the Superior Court of Ventura County in California. He was appointed to this position by Gov. Jerry Brown in 2012 to replace retired Judge Edward F. Brodie.[1][2] He was re-elected in 2014 for a term that expires in January of 2021.[3][4]

As an unopposed incumbent, he was automatically re-elected without appearing on the ballot. [3] 

Education

Romero is a graduate of California State University Northridge, and received his law degree from University of California, Hastings College of Law in 1998.[2]

Career

Prior to his appointment, Romero was a Deputy District Attorney in Ventura County, handling sexual assault, domestic violence, white-collar crime, and fraud issues. He was the senior deputy district attorney from 1999 until his appointment to the Superior Court in 2012.[2]
