Gilda Jacobs
Gilda Jacobs was a Democratic member of the Michigan State Senate from 2003 to January 1, 2011, serving as Minority Caucus Leader. Due to Michigan term limits, Senator Jacobs did not run for re-election in the Michigan State Senate elections of 2010. [1]
Jacobs also served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 1998 to 2002 and also served as the Assistant Minority Leader at that time. Jacobs also served on the Oakland County Board of Commissioners from 1995 to 1998 and was Mayor-Pro Tempore for the City of Huntington Woods from 1993 to 1994 along with serving on the City Board of Commissioners from 1981 to 1994. Jacobs started her political career as a Legislative Assistant for former Michigan Senator Doug Ross.
Jacobs graduated with her Bachelor's degree in 1970 and Master's Degree in 1971 from Michigan. Jacobs was also a special education teacher before entering into politics.

Jacobs was not eligible for re-election due to Michigan's term limits.
2006
On November 7, 2006, Jacobs ran for District 14 of the Michigan State Senate, beating Tara Bellingar, William Opalicky, and R. Roberts.[4]
Jacobs raised $166,823 for his campaign.[5]
