This measure sought to add to the current cemetery levy by a rate of $.10 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for operational and maintenance costs of the cemeteries in the township.[2]

The question on the ballot:
| An additional tax for the benefit of Gilead Township for the purpose of OPERATING AND MAINTAINING CEMETERIES at a rate not exceeding one (1) mill for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to ten cents ($0.10) for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for five years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.[3] |
