This sales tax was approved
Approximately 22 percent of city voters turned out to vote on this issue.[1]
This proposition sought to increase the city's sales tax by one percent, adding the addition revenue to the sewer and street funds. The Mayor stated that the city sewer system is in desperate need of extra money and the streets need further repairs. The tax passing means the city will have a sales tax of 10 percent.[2]
