I’m the mother of three sons, Grandmother to two guys, and a Diva in the making. I have been a long-time resident of Union City. I attended Alvarado Middle School, now known as Itliong-Vera Cruz Middle School, then James Logan High School. Then off to Chabot, followed by Holy Names University. I returned to raise my children in New Haven Unified School District. I'm also a Blue Star Mom of a Naval Pilot, and the sister of a career Army member retired.
  • Representation matter. In the 88year history of the district there has never been an appointed or elected Black or brown woman on the board.
  • Advocating and working for Community Wellness Hubs. Leveraging their role as trusted gathering places that connect every member of the community to essential programs, services and spaces that advance health equity, improve health outcomes and enhance quality of life.
  • Parks and recreation opportunities for all, regardless of your ability levels.
In the next four years, major policy changes will happen with us involved or on the sideline. The Pandemic has made many major changes to our "Life" as we knew it. We need to search out our similarities and work to a more inclusive world for all.
I looked up to my grandfather, Samuel for instilling in me “we all squat on the toilet." Meaning there is no difference in people regardless of their color. My grandfather Wilborne taught me to look out for those marginalized people. Do for those who didn't have as much as me. These two lessons have shaped the way I live my life to this very day! Real simple but golden rules to follow.
My first picket line as a CWA 9415 member and steward. We know men develpoed these questions because they keep asking about age. LOL
Worked for my Grandmother stamping Avon catalogs. Until she stopped selling Avon. To provide the number of years would be to tell my age. Sorry...
