Campaign themes

What Makes a Great School Board?
1. Effective school boards have members that contribute their unique talents while collaborating and working as a team.

I will do my best to represent the community in a way that unites the school board so that we do work as a team.

2. Effective school boards do not rubber stamp requests by the superintendent. Instead, as a team they work with the superintendent and community leaders to set the vision and goals for the school district. It is the responsibility of the school board to hold the district accountable for results.

I know that I am responsible for how I vote and as a school board member will do my best to always vote so that your children receive the best educational opportunities.

3. Effective School Boards have members that work as a team. This doesn’t mean that they will always agree, but that they resolve issues in ways to best improve the education of students.

It is not always possible to have unified opinions, but know that I will do everything possible to present documented facts if I disagree with specific policies or topics being discussed. This is where you can help. It takes a lot of time to research topics, such as different curriculum. I will want the community to be part of specifics decisions, such as textbooks, etc. [4]
