My name is Ginger Sykes Torres. I’m running to restore common sense and integrity to CD1. As a native Arizonan, a wife, mother of three, and a small business owner -- I know what it's like to live in the wonderful district we call home. It’s time to end the logjam in Congress and get common-sense legislation passed that will benefit our small businesses and grow our economy. The House of Representatives controls the purse, and I’ll seek every opportunity to ensure there is substantial investment in the needs of our state. I have a track record of working with Republicans and Democrats on key issues facing our communities. I’m all about building coalitions, not burning bridges.
I am most passionate about economic policy that supports Arizona’s businesses. In Congress, I will put Arizona’s economy first and ensure small businesses thrive by directing our tax dollars at enhancing our infrastructure and attracting more business to our state. I am dedicated to working to bring down inflation through sound fiscal policy. By leaning on my almost two decades of environmental experience, I will be a champion for clean energy jobs. Additionally, I am passionate about supporting Arizona families and seek to introduce bipartisan paid family leave legislation so mothers don’t have to sacrifice their careers to raise their children. If elected as the first Native American to represent Arizona in Congress, I will be a voice for Native Americans -- fighting for rural infrastructure, protection for indigenous women, and honoring federal treaties with Arizona tribes.
