An effort to recall Councilwoman Ginny Chadwick in Columbia, Missouri from her position was launched in October 2014.[1] The recall election was scheduled to take place on April 7, 2015.[2] Chadwick resigned on January 5, 2015, ending the recall campaign.[3]
Recall proponent arguments
Chadwick is targeted for recall over a failed marijuana decriminalization bill. Although she said she would support such a bill in a March candidate forum while running for the seat, her no vote caused the bill to fail 4-3.[1]

Supporters needed to submit signatures equal to thirty percent of the number of votes cast in the most recent election for Chadwick's seat. A total of 827 votes were cast, so petitioners needed to collect 249 signatures.[1] Recall proponents turned in 451 signatures. The city clerk had 30 days to verify the signatures.[4] More than 300 of those signatures were verified, allowing the recall to move forward.[2]
