Glenn E. Acree is a judge for Division 2 of the Kentucky Court of Appeals 5th Appellate District. He assumed office in 2006. His current term ends on January 6, 2031.

Acree ran for re-election for the Division 2 judge of the Kentucky Court of Appeals 5th Appellate District. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

Acree served as chief judge of the Kentucky Court of Appeals from July 1, 2012, to June 30, 2016.[1]

He ran in 2016 for the 5th District of the Kentucky Supreme Court.[2] He was defeated by Laurance VanMeter.

Biography

Education

Acree received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky and his J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law. He also has a master's degree in American history from the University of Maryland.[1]

Career

Acree was in private practice from 1985 until his appointment to the Kentucky Court of Appeals in 2006. He handled criminal, administrative, employment, contract, insurance, family, environmental, and construction law litigation and appeals.[1]
