Gonzalo Camacho
Gonzalo Camacho was a candidate for District 4 of the Austin City Council in Texas. Camacho was defeated in the general election on November 8, 2016.[1]
Although city council elections in Austin are officially nonpartisan, Camacho is known to be affiliated with the Republican Party.[2]
Biography
Camacho obtained a B.A. in general studies, a B.S. in civil engineering, and an M.S. in civil engineering from the University of Texas, Arlington.[3]
As of his run for city council in 2016, Camacho operated his own traffic and transportation engineering consulting company, Camacho & Associates. He also previously served as a precinct chair for the Travis County Republican Party.[3][4]

The city of Austin, Texas, held elections for city council on November 8, 2016. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was August 22, 2016. Five of the ten city council seats were up for election.[7] Incumbent Gregorio Casar defeated Gonzalo Camacho and Louis Herrin III in the Austin City Council District 4 general election.[8]
