Function

The 2013 Texas House rules described the functions of the committee as outlined below.

The committee shall have seven members, with jurisdiction over all matters pertaining to:

the organization, operation, powers, regulations, and management of state departments, agencies, institutions, and advisory committees;
elimination of inefficiencies in the provision of state services;
open government matters, including open records and open meetings; and
the Sunset Advisory Commission.^[1]^[2]

”
