The county government of Alameda County is located in Oakland, California. It covers a total of 821 square miles in the San Francisco Bay Area. The county was established in 1853.[1]

2024
Alameda County, California, held primary elections for county board of supervisors, the Union Sanitary District, and superior court judges on March 5, 2024. Candidates could win outright with a majority of the vote in the primary. If no candidate received a majority, the top two vote-getters advanced to the general election scheduled for November 5, 2024. General elections for the county board of education and the Alameda County Flood Control Board of Directors (Zone 7) were also scheduled for March 5, 2024. The filing deadline for these offices was December 8, 2023.
The county also held general elections for the AC Transit District, Alameda County Water District, Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), East Bay Municipal Utility District, East Bay Regional Park District, Washington Township Health Care District, Ohlone Community College District, and Peralta Community College District on November 5, 2024. The filing deadline for these offices was August 9, 2024.
2022
Alameda County, California, held primary elections for assessor, auditor/controller, district attorney, sheriff/coroner, treasurer/tax collector, superintendent of schools, board of supervisors, Union Sanitary District, and superior court judges on June 7, 2022. Candidates could win outright with a majority of the vote in the primary.
