Governor Brown announces first Superior Court appointments

California: Governor Jerry Brown ended his 2011 by appointing thirteen judges to the California Superior Courts. Prior to December 27, the only court appointment he had made in this term was that of Goodwin Liu to the California Supreme Court.

Below are the judges appointed to the state's Superior Courts last week:

• Raquel A. Marquez, Otis Sterling III and John W. Vineyard in Riverside County;

• Christopher J. Plourd in Imperial County;

• Shelyna V. Brown in Santa Clara County;

• Donald I. Segerstrom, Jr. in Tuolumne County;

• Matthew P. Guasco in Ventura County; and

• Kerry R. Bensinger, Michelle Williams Court, Holly J. Fujie, Michael Garcia, Roberto Longoria and Michael J. Raphael in Los Angeles County.
