Governor Deal interviews candidates for Western Judicial Circuit vacancy

Georgia: Today Governor Nathan Deal will interview three candidates for a vacancy on the Western Judicial Circuit in the Tenth Superior Court District. The vacancy occurred when Steve C. Jones joined the Northern District of Georgia federal court.

The candidates to be interviewed are:

• Eric W. Norris, Chief Judge of the Oconee County Magistrate Court;

• H. Patrick Haggard, judge of the Municipal Court of Winterville; and

• Phllip Griffith, an attorney in Athens.

The president of the Western Judicial Circuit Bar Association said of the selections, "All three candidates are well-qualified, and the governor couldn't go wrong either way."
