Governor Deal names new Supreme Court Justice

Atlanta, Georgia: Governor Nathan Deal has made his first appointment to the Georgia Supreme Court by naming Keith R. Blackwell to the vacancy created by the retirement of George H. Carley. Blackwell will officially become an associate justice when he is sworn in on July 19.[1] Prior to his appointment Blackwell served on the Georgia Court of Appeals from 2010 to 2012; he was appointed to this position by former governor Sonny Perdue.[1]
