Governor Shumlin appoints Vermont attorney to Washington County Probate Court

Montpelier, Vermont: Governor Peter Shumlin announced the appointment of Jeffrey Kilgore to the Vermont Probate Court of Washington County, Vermont to fill the vacancy left by Judge George Belcher. Kilgore is currently a private practice attorney in Vermont. He attended Vermont Law School, graduating in 1978. He has advanced degrees from Boston University School of Law (LL.M. 1988) and Michigan State University (M.A. 1975) both in economics and taxation. He will be sworn in on Monday, July 16, at 11:30am. Shumlin commented on the nomination, stating "Jeff has solid experience in probate issues and an extensive legal career. That experience, as well as his knowledge of county government, make him an asset to the bench."[1]
