Governor appoints five for Pennsylvania courts

Pennsylvania: Yesterday, Governor Edward Rendell appointed five judges to courts in the Pennsylvania. The judges nominated for the courts are:
- Richard Knecht to the Columbia County Magisterial District;
- William Benner to the Lancaster County Magisterial District;
- David Howells, Jr. to the Lehigh County Magisterial District;
- James McMaster to the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas; and
- Phillippe Melograne to the Washington County Court of Common Pleas.[1]
In the state, interim judges nominated by the governor must be approved by the Pennsylvania Senate with a two-thirds vote.[2]
