Governor appoints two to Maricopa Superior Court

Arizona: On Friday, Governor Jan Brewer announced the appointment of two judges to the Maricopa County Superior Court. James Blomo and Gerry Porter will succeed Robert Budoff and Edward O. Burke, respectively.[1]
Both Blomo and Porter have served as commissioners of the Maricopa Superior Court since 2003. Of the appointment, Brewer said, "I am proud to appoint these two very talented individuals who share my judicial philosophy. Their experience and dedication will make them tremendous additions to the Maricopa County Superior Court."[1]
The new judges will not have to run for retention to their seats until the 2014 election. In Maricopa and Pima counties, after appointment superior court judges do not run for the seat until at least after two years in office.[2]
