Grady Yarbrough
Grady Yarbrough (Democratic Party) ran for election for Governor of Texas. He lost in the Democratic primary on March 6, 2018.
Biography
Grady Yarbrough was born in Smith County, Texas. Yarbrough earned a bachelor's degree from Texas College in 1959, a master's degree in education from Prairie View A&M, and an administration certificate from East Texas State University. Yarbrough's career experience includes teaching social studies to students in Chicago, Tyler, and San Antonio.[1][2]

Yarbrough filed to run as a Democratic candidate in the 2016 election for Texas Railroad Commission. He came in first in the primary election and, according to Texas law, proceeded to a runoff election as no candidate received a majority of the vote in the first primary. Yarbrough defeated Cody Garrett in the runoff election.
Wayne Christian defeated Grady Yarbrough, Mark Miller, and Martina Salinas in the Texas railroad commission election.

2012
Yarbrough ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. Senate, representing Texas. He and Paul Sadler defeated Sean Hubbard and Addie Dainell Allen in the May 29, 2012, Democratic primary and advanced to the July 31. 2012, primary runoff. He was defeated in the runoff by Sadler.[3] [4]
Sadler defeated Yarbrough in the Democratic primary runoff election on July 31, 2012.[5]
