A Grand Junction School District 51 Levy Increase measure was on the November 1, 2011 ballot in the Grand Junction 51 school district area which is in Mesa County.

This measure was defeated

This measure sought to increase the school property tax by a rate of around $5 per month per $100,000 of assessed property value for a further six years in order to help with budget deficits in the school district. School officials noted that without the increased funds teachers would be cut as well as reduced school programming and possibly shortening the school week to four days.[2]

Current Statewide

A 2013 statewide measure, Amendment 66, would authorize Colorado to increase taxes with an expected revenue increase of $950 million for school funding.[3]
