I am Grandison M. Porter — a husband, father, veteran, educator, and community leader committed to service above self. I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, where I learned the value of faith, family, and hard work. After graduating from L.W. Higgins High School, I answered the call to serve by joining the United States Army. Over more than 20 years of active-duty service, I rose to the rank of Sergeant First Class (E-7), serving in multiple leadership and operational roles. My military career required discipline, attention to detail, regulatory compliance, and the ability to manage complex administrative systems in which my skills directly aligned with the responsibilities of the District Clerk’s Office.
  • 1. Modernize and Maximize — Without Wasting Taxpayer Dollars My priority is to strengthen and fully optimize the current court records system before asking taxpayers to fund costly replacements. Modernization does not mean unnecessary spending not at all. But it does mean improving workflows, training, oversight, and accountability so the system works as it was intended to work.
  • 2. Accountability, Accuracy, and Efficiency The District Clerk’s Office is the backbone of the district court system. Court records must be accurate. Filings must be processed in a timely manner. Internal processes must be consistent and professional. I will implement measurable performance standards and ensure the office operates with discipline and transparency.
  • 3. Service-Oriented Leadership After more than 20 years of military service and now as an educator, leadership has always meant responsibility to others. I am committed to running an office that treats every resident, attorney, juror, and court official with professionalism and respect. Public trust begins with integrity. What I want voters to remember is that I am a servant leader focused on accountability, efficiency, and integrity who is committed to strengthening the District Clerk’s Office, so it works better for everyone. Because I am truly, "Committed to Service. Dedicated to You."
Although the District Clerk does not create public policy, I am passionate about accountability, transparency, and fairness in government. Taxpayers deserve efficient systems that work properly without unnecessary spending. I support modernization that improves processes and maximizes existing resources. I care deeply about access to justice, because accurate and timely court records affect families and businesses during critical moments. As a retired Army veteran and JROTC instructor, I believe in ethical leadership, discipline, and service. The Clerk’s office must operate with integrity, efficiency, and professionalism for the people it serves.
At this time, my campaign has been endorsed by VoteVets, The Texas Stonewall Democrats, community leaders, local volunteers, and supporters who share a commitment to accountability, efficiency, and integrity in local government.
