Campaign themes

2014

Doherty submitted the following statement to Ballotpedia:[3]

When elected the first push that needs to be made is getting congress back up and running again and working together for the greater good of the people and the country. The second issue that we need to address are the national debt by finding ways to more efficiently and effectively use tax payer money through cutting wasteful spending and inefficiencies of the federal government. The third issue is our failing and over taxed infrastructure. Millions of dollars are lost from the economy due to traffic issues and degrading roads, thousands of gallons of water are lost every year do to our poor water infrastructure, and the current power grid is not built to sustain much more growth and demand. For too long our infrastructure has been neglected and it is time to put the focus back on this to help re-stabilize the foundation to our economic development.[4]
