Grant Smithson was a candidate for the 26th Judicial District of North Carolina in 2012.[1]

Education

Smithson received his B.A. degree from Rice University in 1970 and his J.D. degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1977.[2]

Career

Smithson has worked as an attorney in private practice for 22 years. He also has 13 years of experience as a public defender in Charlotte.[2]

2012 election

Smithson was defeated by incumbent Judge Jena P. Culler on November 6, 2012, receiving 32.98 percent of the vote.[3][1]
