GREAT FALLS, Montana: David Hyslop of Great Falls has pleaded not guilty to deliberate homicide.[1]

Mr. Hyslop is accused of killing his girlfriend's 2-year-old girl while in his care. The 28-year-old entered his plea at the 8th Judicial District Court in Cascade County.[1]

Hyslop was arrested after a police investigation into the injuries to his girlfriend's daughter. Investigators say he told them the girl was injured when he accidentally dropped her when putting her down for a nap, but staff at the Great Falls Hospital suspected the injuries were not the result of an accident, and Hyslop was arrested on June 23 and charged with attempted deliberate homicide. He was then charged with homicide after the girl died June 25 at a Salt Lake City hospital.[1]
