This measure sought to increase the current fire levy by a rate of $1 per $1,000 of assessed value for a period of three years in order to further pay for fire protection service costs in the township.[2]

The question on the ballot:
Shall the Township of Greendale, County of Midland, MI continue an increase of up to 1 mill ($1.00 per $ 1,000 of taxable value) in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution and reduced by required rollback to 1 mill, and levy it for three (3) years, 2013, 2014 and 2015, inclusive, for providing fire protection services; raising an estimated $38,800 in the first year the millage is levied, of which the entire amount will be disbursed for fire and emergency services.[3] |
