Greg Ballard
Greg Ballard (independent) is running for election for Indiana Secretary of State. He declared candidacy for the general election scheduled on November 3, 2026.[source]
Ballard (Republican Party) was the Mayor of Indianapolis. He assumed office in 2008. He left office in 2016.
Biography
Ballard obtained a B.A. in economics from Indiana University, Bloomington. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1978 to 2001. He fought in the Persian Gulf War and was awarded the Legion of Merit Award. He retired from the military after 23 years of service at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.[1]

2015
The city of Indianapolis, Indiana, held elections for mayor and city council on November 3, 2015. Republican and Democratic primary elections took place on May 5, 2015. The filing deadline for major party candidates who wished to run in this election was February 6, 2015. The filing deadline for independent and minor party candidates was July 15, 2015.[2] Twenty-five city council seats were up for election. Indianapolis' four at-large seats were not up for election because those seats were scheduled to expire at the end of 2015.[3]
