From day one on earth, I have called South Carolina home. The majority of my education as well as his military enlistment was here in South Carolina. I hold a solid foundation based on South Carolina values and traditions. It is my passion for South Carolina and District 98 that makes me committed to its preservation through proactive legislative action and policies. My ability to analyze, interpret, and report on issues important to District 98 qualifies me to lead the district into the future. I have a track record of responsible and dependable work ethic that would be a great asset coupled with an unrelenting focus on quality decision making, integrity, confidence, and an unflappable commitment to the pursuit of excellence.

As a third-generation active-duty retired Air Force veteran, I personally served multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan combat operations. As a military professional, I traveled the world and spent time in 92 countries. In 2010, I graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a B.S. in Professional Aeronautics, 2018 I graduated from the Citadel Military College with a Master of Science degree in Leadership, and currently 9 credit hours from completing a Doctorate of Education degree in Leadership at Charleston Southern University.

During my down time I spend time with my wife of 26 years, our son, and our daughter. I also enjoy time at my farm caring for and training my younger horses.
  • Taxation

South Carolina has the highest tax burden in the Southeast based on tax ratios. Every year additional tax laws pass through the Supermajority REPUBLICAN legislature (counter to the Republican platform) by way of gas, convenience, usage, property, and vehicle registration taxes. In some instances, we get taxed multiple times on certain items such as road taxes generated by several different tax streams. Over the last few years, the State had excess tax revenue, this year residents will receive a small refund and a .5% income tax rate decrease.

I have a bold plan to eliminate the State Income Tax IMMEDIATELY.
  • Managed Development Within District and County Development within Dorchester County is thriving to a point where we now see horrible traffic and severe flooding on our major roadways. Calculated managed growth is required to properly build supporting infrastructure to accommodate the population growth within our district through legislation. The way ahead is to pass legislation including the following; ADEQUATE PUBLIC FACILITIES ie. roads, water, sewer, storm water system are available to serve new growth and development. To be completed before housing permits issued. DEVELOPMENT IMPACT FEES based on structures being built and paid for before build permit is issued. ADOPT CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN on a 5-year cycle
  • Education For years the government has been encroaching and manipulating our education system, by masking our history, traditions, and values. There has been a drastic departure from traditional academic curriculum and that needs to stop now. This new divisive curriculum embodies hatred, based on one’s race, gender, or sex with attempts to displace our religious beliefs and freedom as a whole. I hold a deep-rooted belief that the parent holds the responsibility to teach their children under the age of 18 about all of the dangers in society and set the moral and ethical groundwork. I support legislation that; Eliminates ideological and indoctrination in all schools Elevates South Carolina school system above 43rd school system Notionally
Tax burden and the use of Tax dollars by the State Government.
I don't have a single person I look up to, I look at my grandparents, great uncles, parents, aunts and uncles. All served in the military and went on to post military community service.
Join the military and travel the world, there is no better way to understand what we have in America than to see it firsthand in countries that lack what some Americans take for granted.
Negotiation, making decisions with honor, duty, respect, and using innovative ideas. Collaboration, with respectful of others’ opinions, while ensuring all tasks, duties, and projects are completed in an efficient manner. Change management, strategic planning, process improvement, conflict resolution and project management.
Represent constituents of the district, echo concerns, needs, and values in Columbia.
Leadership, Peter G. Northouse. Bases of my M.S. and EdD programs.
I don't play in fiction; I focus on real life.
Professional working relationship with open professional communication.
Unmanaged growth and lack of infrastructure improvements that maintain pace with development.
No, as in every aspect of life, a new set of eyes and ideas can bring in a whole new way to success.
A professional relationship with open professional communication is a must.
I would prefer to be myself and not try to model myself after a previous member of the House.
There are so many stories, one in particular was when the DD2 school board removed parents of a student during a school board meeting and later placed a ban on them. The parents had to seek legal advice and later showed in court for a hearing. The parents questioned nothing more than the curriculum the student was entered.
No, I'm running for a political office not a comedy club.
The overall granting of emergency powers should be in the general assembly. Through this process there should be a specific set of powers granted the Governor for quick reaction while the overarching situation is brought before the body for expansion if needed.
Total elimination of State Income Tax.
Unsure at this time.
ALL financials should be public record since the funds come from the Taxpayer.
Great, ballot initiatives give the state citizens an option to have their voices heard outside the legislature process.
