|I grew up in the Sherman Park section of Bristol, the son of a teacher & successful musician and a school teacher, where I attended Eastern High School and met my wife of 38 years. My father instilled in him a love of community and music, an appreciation GI have been able to pass on to area youth as past president of the non-profit Bristol Brass and Wind Ensemble and current president of the newly formed Bristol Arts and Culture Fund.
As City Councilman, the mayor and I created the City Arts and Culture Commission. I was then appointed City Council liaison to the commission for his four years in office. Committees that I served on included Public Works, Energy Commission, Housing Authority, City Arts and Culture Commission and Real Estate Committee.- THE RIGHT TO VOTE is the right that protects all the others. It's at the very core of American democracy, but it's never been more at risk. I am campaigning for early voting, will fight to pass no-excuse absentee ballots, and will ensure the CT Voting Rights Act passes the Senate. We can keep voting secure and accessible to all, but only if we have leadership who is willing to act.
- The 31st Senate District is home to some of the most beautiful places in Connecticut—protecting them must be a priority. A smart policy that leverages green energy—like the solar strategy I helped implement as a member of the Bristol Council Energy Committee—and ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY can do that, fight climate change, and grow our economy, all at once.
- REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS are under assault. I will protect our right to choose in CT, and fight against the hard-right, anti-choice agenda. I will ensure family planning and reproductive care are protected, too.
I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to realize their potential and fully participate in society, the economy, and their community.
